Kindergarten registration (online) for the 2025-26 school year will open on Jan. 6, 2025.

91 serves the communities of Blumenort, Bothwell, Crystal Springs, Grunthal, Kleefeld, Landmark, Mitchell, Niverville, and Steinbach.

Representing nine communities, 91 consists of approximately 8,500 students and 1,100 total staff in 19 schools. In addition to academics, athletics, and the arts, 91 offers full vocational and technology education programming.

91 and caregivers are encouraged to register their children in January for September entry, as this will assist schools in planning and scheduling. Early registration also provides the opportunity to participate in upcoming orientation events in spring.

To be eligible for registration in 2024-25 school year, children must be five years of age on or before December 31, 2024. Students are required to attend the school within the catchment area where they reside, which ensures balanced enrollment across the division. Please view catchment maps.

If your child is currently enrolled as a student in the 91, a new-student registration is not required. All inquiries should be directed to your child’s current school.

Former 91 Students

If your child is not a current 91 student but was enrolled previously (or you previously registered but did not attend), online registration is not permitted. Please contact your designated catchment area school. School staff will provide you with further instructions on how to complete the registration process.

If your child is new to Canada and has not yet been registered for school in Manitoba, please contact for assistance in compiling required documentation prior to beginning the registration process.

Prior to submitting your registration, please confirm the designated catchment school for your child. Students are required to attend the school within the catchment area in which they reside. If you live in a rural area and are unsure of your designated school, please proceed with the registration and select "unsure" when prompted to declare catchment. School officials will confirm your child's designated school upon receipt of registration. View Catchment Maps.

STEP 1
SUBMIT REGISTRATION FORM
Required input includes your child’s birth certificate number, address of residence, and parent/guardian contact information.

Register a New Student

Upon submitting the registration form, applicants will receive an email indicating receipt of the online registration (sent to applicant email address). The registration will then be placed in a queue to be processed by school officials. After the form has been fully processed, applicants will receive a second email confirming the status of their registration with a directive to proceed to the second step.

STEP 2 Please do not proceed to STEP 2 until directed to do so. Your child's school will provide additional information regarding the submission of supporting documentation.

BRING SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION TO SCHOOL
When instructed to do so, applicants will be required to visit their child's designated school and provide the supportive documentation. Registration is not considered complete, until supporting documentation has been verified by the school office.

A. Medical/Health Insurance Coverage
If available, provide one of the following:
  • Manitoba Medical Card listing the child and parent(s) name, or copy of application
  • Other medical card listing child and parent(s) name from another province
  • Proof of private insurance on a monthly basis

    B. Residency
    One of the following (with current address) must be provided:
  • Utility Bill
  • Mortgage Documents
  • Building Permit
  • Property Tax Bill (for primary residence ONLY, and not rental property)
  • Rental/Lease Agreement
  • Accepted “Offer to Purchase” with possession date Indicated
  • Manitoba Health Card

    C. Student Age Verification
    One of the following must be provided:
  • Birth Certificate (preferred)
  • Passport
  • Treaty Card
  • Baptismal Certificate
  • Statutory Declaration to a Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public

    D. Citizenship (Parent)
    One of the following must be provided:
  • Birth Certificate (preferred)
  • Canadian Passport
  • Treaty Card
  • Baptismal Certificate
  • Statutory Declaration to a Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public

    If not a citizen, then one of the following documents must be provided:
    Landed Immigrant (Permanent Residence) Documents, Work Visa, Study Visa/Permit, or Refugee Status Documentation.
  • STEP 3 Your school will communicate next steps.

    Next steps are unique to the school and may include items such as:
  • additional documentation specific to the school or programming
  • questionnaire to learn more about the student
  • school visit/orientation
  • meeting with guidance counselors, learning support, and/or teachers
  • course selection

    Once all required steps are completed, the school will coordinate a appropriate start date.
